Mr. Warren Davis, 8th Degree Black Belt
Master Level Instructor and Program Director
Mr. Davis began his martial arts training as a young boy living in Birmingham, Alabama in early 1977. His parents enrolled him to help him with his self-confidence and to help him learn to defend himself. His family moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1978 and after receiving his Black belt he decided to join the instructor team. Mr. Davis continued to train and teach Taekwondo throughout the 1980s. In 1987 he took over a Taekwondo club in the Tillman’s Corner suburb of Mobile from a friend who moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and opened a Taekwondo America school. He taught there until he graduated from college in 1989. In September 1989 Mr. Davis opened Greensboro Taekwondo America at a small facility on West Market Street. The small facility was quickly outgrown and on January 2, 1991 the program moved to Battleground Avenue, where it remained for 19 years. On January 2, 2010 the school was moved to it's current location on New Garden road.
At the Winston-Salem National Championships on September 24, 2011 Mr. Davis was promoted to the rank of 8th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor by the Taekwondo America Board of Examiners. Mr. Davis has taught clinics and performed demonstrations across the United States. He has also helped many students in Greensboro reach their goals in Taekwondo.
In November of 2014 Mr. and Ms. Davis sold the Greensboro location to their student of over 20 years, Mr. Chris Penn. They moved to McKinney, Texas (Ms. Davis says it is Mr. Davis' midlife crisis) and are opening their new school in January of 2015!
Ms. Elizabeth Davis, 7th Degree Black Belt
Master Level Instructor and Program Director
Mrs. Elizabeth Davis began taking Taekwondo in 1985 at Faulkner State College in Bay Minette Alabama. Mrs. Davis began teaching Taekwondo in 1988 at a club in Tillmans Corner, Alabama. In 1989 she married Mr. Davis and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and began assisting with classes.
After performing a demonstration in Lexington, Kentucky on September 2010, Ms. Davis was promoted to the rank of 7th Degree Black Master Instructor. Mrs. Davis currently teaches classes and is in charge of the Dragon’s program at the Taekwondo school. She is also available to teach self-defense classes as well as demonstrations at schools in the area.
Taekwondo America Organization
We are a proud member of Taekwondo America
Taekwondo America (TA) is a national martial arts organization with schools across the United States.
All TA schools adhere to the same guidelines and procedures ensuring the high standards by which we teach, promote students in rank, and project our image and reputation within the community.
The TA National Board of Examiners has developed and certified a comprehensive training and fitness program for our students to follow. This enables children and adults to progress at their own pace and ensures that we are able to meet the needs of all students.
Over the years, TA has established a reputation built upon our standard of excellence. Accordingly, we do not allow any negative, aggressive behavior, or any misuse of Taekwondo in any manner.
Taekwondo America schools compete exclusively in tournaments sponsored by the national organization. TA sponsors several regional and national tournaments throughout the year and invites all enrolled students to participate in these events.
The national organization is managed by a Board of Directors and each region has one high-ranking school owner as the point of contact.
Taekwondo America was formed in 1993. Since its formation, the organization has attracted some of the finest Taekwondo instructors in the United States. Taekwondo America practice the traditional style of Taekwondo, "Chung Hun" which means "Blue Cottage".
